Privacy Practices With Respect to Our Account Holders

Information We Collect

We collect both personal information and non-personal information from you online.   Personal information means information that is associated with your name.   We collect information from you by asking you to provide it to us on-line.   We may also collect information from you automatically.   For instance we may use the following technologies:

  • Cookies.  Cookies are small text files sent by a website server to (1) your Web browser and stored on your computer; and (2) email we send to you.  The use of cookies helps us understand how you are using our Sites and applications.  Cookies help us to improve security, content, navigation and functionality.  Additionally, we use cookies on our Sites, the websites on which we advertise and through our email to track advertising performance and to collect aggregate data on sites and/or through email viewing.  We may also use a third-party provider to track or collect such information.  We do not use Cookies that contain or capture unencrypted Personal Information.  You can manage the placement of cookies on your computer through the features found in most Internet browsers, including adjusting your browser settings to warn you before a cookie is stored or to block all cookies.  You can also delete cookies that have already been placed on your computer.  Consult the "Help" function of your browser to explore your options.
  • Web Beacons.  We may also use web beacons to access our cookies.  A web beacon is an electronic file on a Web page that allows us to count users who have visited that page and to recognize users by accessing our cookies.  Further, a web beacon can be used in HTML-formatted email to determine responses to our communications and measure their effectiveness.  You can avoid web beacons by turning off HTML display and displaying only the text portion of your email.
  • Internet Protocol (IP) Address.  As you enter our Websites, we capture and retain the IP address of the device you are using, such as a personal computer or a mobile device.  The IP address does not identify you or your personal information and is used primarily for security purposes.  We also collect the browser type and operating system used to access our site, date and time you access our site, address of the website from which you linked directly to our site, pages you visit and the information you request, and all other information we can collect.

How We Use Personal Information

Our primary purpose in collecting information about you is to provide you with the services and information that you request.  We may also decide to use information about you to track how you use our site.  In addition, we may aggregate the information that you provide with the information that other users provide in order to conduct research, analysis, or studies for our own purposes (i. e.  not related to providing you with specific products or services).

PFP may send you email relating to specific services or information that we believe is pertinent to your continued education.  Additionally we may contact you regarding any communication that you have sent to us, or relationship that you may have with us.

How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or license your personal information to anyone.  This applies to both current and former customers.  We do share personally identifiable information with other companies in the following situations:

  • Sharing Your Information with Subcontractors.  We may share information with subcontractors that provide us with services.  These services may include, among other things, helping us to provide services that you request, to create or maintain our databases, to research and analyze the data we collect.  Any party with whom we share your personal information is required either contractually or by law to keep it confidential and not to disclose it without your consent and to only use such information as required for the services to be performed.
  • Law Enforcement and Legal Process.  We may disclose personal information to government and regulatory agencies to comply with a lawful summons, court order, subpoena, discovery request, fraud investigation, audit, regulatory examination or other valid court, government, or regulatory agency request.
  • Behavioral Advertisers.  We may participate in behavioral-based advertising.  This means that a third party may place a cookie on your browser, or use a web beacon, to collect information about your use of our website so that they can provide advertising about products and services tailored to your interest.  That advertising may appear either on our website, or on other websites.  If you would like to opt-out from having the behavioral-based advertising companies with whom we have a relationship use your information for advertising purposes you can do so by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative or Digital Advertising Alliance.
  • Business Transition.  If we or any of our assets are acquired, your information may be transferred to the acquiring company.

How We Protect Your Information

We comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding the protection of personal information.  We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that restrict access to your personal information.  We use industry leading security technologies, including layered security and access controls over personal information.  These safeguards are reviewed as necessary and may be adjusted in response to advances in technology and the latest security threats or trends.  We also train our employees about privacy and our commitment to protect your personal information.
